Bangor Ballet - Dedicated to creating performance opportunities for talented dancers and choreographers and to providing high quality live dance performances for audiences near and far.

 

Bangor Ballet was founded in 1994 and is located in the studios of  Thomas School of Dance  which is the company's official training school. The company is under the artistic direction of Ivy Clear-Forrest , former Balanchine dancer and Robert Joffrey principal dancer.  Dancers from all area studios are encouraged to audition for productions.

  • Initial performance in November 1994 - Cinderella

  • Cultural exchange and International performance of The Little Mermaid (La Petite Sirene) in Vendome, France in 2008

  • Repertoire includes Alice in Wonderland, Swan Lake, Peter and the Wolf, Titania's Dream, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, New York Concerto, Tribute to Balanchine, The Little Mermaid, Les Sylphides, Salute to the Troops, All Gershwin, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Cinderella, Nutcracker in a Nutshell and other titles

  • Bangor Ballet has collaborated with Maine State Ballet, Portland Ballet, Penobscot Theatre and the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.

  • Bangor Ballet has performed in Bangor, Brewer, Ellsworth, Stonington, Bar Harbor, Machias, Rockland, Camden, Dover-Foxcroft and Bucksport as well as in Vendome, France.

  • The 2015-2016 season (the company's 22nd) includes Nutcracker in a Nutshell, Sleeping Beauty and Hooked on Classics: Back to Bach and Off to Offenbach.
